Resources from Pastor Kelly (pt. 7)

The weather is glorious, and it speaks to the glorious Creator who is upholding His creation by the word of his power in this very moment as you read this email (Her 1:3). Take a moment even now to pause, consider His creation in action this day, and give thanks and praise for His goodness, His power, and His might seen in the vibrancy of life outside.  Here are some resources for you this week: (1) Reminder about Coffee with Castleview. I will plan on having the zoom “meeting room” open from 1:30-2:15pm again this Tuesday. For those available, it will be a chance to enjoy casual conversation.  (2) Gus mentioned Mark Dever’s reading of Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God by Jonathan Edwards during his devotional thoughts yesterday. You can find that here.  Even if you have read this sermon at some point, it takes on a different flavor when you hear it. I would encourage you to take time to consider Edward’s thoughts and to allow them to draw your thoughts to eternity, God’s character, and God’s promises.  (3) Also, here is a short devotional by Ed Welch on 1 Peter 5:6-7. Peter says, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”  (4) And here is a short article by Jonathan Holmes, “10 Wisdom Principles for Connecting in our Post-Covid-19 Reality.” This is a helpful primer for us as we near the time when the restrictions are lifted and we begin to interact with each other in person again.  I miss you all and continue to pray for you. May God continue His work this day of changing us to be more like Christ (2 Cor 3:18).
