| Discipleship week in full swing at CRB | 07/29/2009 06:33PM |

A lot has happened since our last report. We experienced a very wet Tuesday here at Camp Ray Bird. This forced us indoors for activities time but did not dampen the mood. We enjoyed some movie time and indoor games. This week is girls vs. boys in our competitions and that has everyone feeling pretty competitive. We even had an indoor "campfire" last night. It was very fun singing Christian campfire songs minus the misquitos... :-) During our chapel time we have talked about how in Christ we are chosen, adopted as children of God, redeemed, forgiven, friends of God, justified, and being sanctified. Today's chapel included a discussion on God's plan for earthly families as we memorized Col. 3:20. The boys and young men learned the importance of finishing school, getting a good job, being married and staying maried, having children and keeping up with the work of being a good parent. The campers have completed two days of devotional material (out of 74) and are learning the importance of a daily quiet time with God. We are truly blessed with a great group of campers and leaders/volunteers here at Camp Ray Bird. Please continue to pray for God to grow all of us in new ways that will bring glory to Him and fulfil us as His disciples. |

| Beautiful Monday at Camp Ray Bird | 07/27/2009 12:23PM |
The Castleview CRB Team made it to camp yesterday around 5PM. We have had a great time already getting to know the summer staff with a game of Ultimate Frisbee. This morning we went through some training activities and received our assignements for the week. All will be working as co-counselors with the summer staff with the exeptions of Ethan (Maintanence) and Claire (Kitchen). We have a great team and I am really enjoying the time with them. The campers will begin to arrive around 2PM today. We will be focusing on Christian Discipleship all week and we are really excited to see what God will be doing in us and through us. Please pray for us to be loving examples for Christ and that the Truth in God's Word will have a lasting impact on all of our lives for His Glory! Thanks for checking in. Alex |
