Wrapping up 08/02/2008 08:14AM

My apologies for not having more entries in the blog.  I was making some updates on Thursday evening and there was a technical glitch.  This is the first time I have been able to get back to try again.

We have truly had an amazing week.  We have had loads of fun.  God blessed us with excellent weather ALL week.  All of three trips to the Indiana Dune went very well and everyone returned safe and sound.  You will have to ask the team about all the fun activities like Commando and Crud Wars..... suffice it to say that I saw the biggest food fight I think I will ever see in my life.  It was fun to watch and I have plenty of photos.

Most importantly the messages that God spoke to all of us were excellent.  We saw maturity in the campers that was very encouraging.  We talked on such topics as family, purity, and work the last three days.  I think the messages were very well delivered and received.  I will be doing a lot of praying in the months ahead that all of us here apply what we learned and stick to reading God's Word daily.  I have to run soon.  We should be returning to CBC around 3:30 PM.  Thanks for your support and God Bless you.

How to Grow 07/29/2008 06:35PM

Since we are emphasizing Christian growth with the campers this week we heard this acrostic.

G - Go to Church

R - Read the Bible and pray

O - Obey God

W - Witness to others

We are very much enjoying the opportunity to get to know these campers.  They love to have fun and they often surprise us with their spiritual maturity.  We really have been blessed with a great group of kids this week.  I think the thing that weighs most heavily on our hearts is how do we best help strengthen their walk with Christ for the long run.  We all know that these kids come from tough backgrounds and the world is telling them lies in many different ways, constantly.  We want them to hold fast to Christ and His Truth.  Please pray for all the leaders here at CRB to have meaningful,  encouraging conversations with these kids the next few days.  We will be taking a trip to Indiana Dunes each of the next three days.  Please pray that the weather, the bus, and all the other details would go smoothly and safely.  Thanks and God Bless.

Arrival 07/28/2008 06:31PM

I do not have a whole lot of time to update the blog.  I just wanted to let you know that we arrived safely and we have had an excellent first 24 hours.  We have been assigned to our small groups and have been able to get to know some new names and faces.  We were blessed to have a great devotional and prayer time last night after we arrived.  And to top it all off we have already been able to play basketball, swim, fish, take a small tour of the camp, and play ultimate frisbee.  It has been a very full first day and I am very thankful for a very mature, fun, and selfless team to work with this week.  Please continue to pray for us to impact these students for Christ.  There are over 100 student campers that have professed there faith recently.  They have been asked to return this week for a more intensive discipleship week.  We pray the God would build a firm foundation for them to grow and serve Him.
