MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, a program designed to nurture mothers with children from infancy through kindergarten. MOPS groups meet in churches throughout the United States, Canada, and 19 other countries. The women are of many ages and backgrounds, but share the same desire - to be the best mothers they can be. It began in February 1973 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado with eight women meeting for two hours to refresh themselves as mothers and refuel themselves with God’s Word. Since then, MOPS has grown to become an international corporation with this mission:
MOPS International exists to encourage, equip and develop every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader in the name of Jesus Christ.
